Stopped guessing: why we now share our numbers openly

Written by Gaby Breeuwer, training to become an orthomolecular therapist

This blog was shared before on social media in the end of April 2026.

In the previous blogs, I've shared what I've learned about cell membranes, the impact of stress, and our personal recovery journey in Northern Sweden.

Today, I want to talk about the numbers behind it all. Because how did we really know what to do? The answer is simple: we stopped guessing, and started measuring.

Haro and Gaby

Our journey in numbers

On September 22, 2023, we both did our first BalanceTest. The results were a real wake-up call for both of us: my ratio was 16:1, with an Omega-3 level of 3.8%. Haro's was 12:1, with an Omega-3 level of 3%. (For reference: a healthy ratio is around 3:1 or lower, and an optimal Omega-3 level is between 8–12%.)

We got to work consistently, making changes in our lifestyle and supporting our bodies daily. On April 2, 2024, we did a second test. The results were incredible: I reached 2.3:1 (fully in the green!) with an Omega-3 level of 9%. Haro improved to 4.7:1, with an Omega-3 level of 5.4%. And we didn't just see it on paper, we felt it.

Then we made a mistake. After those improved results, we stopped. We thought: "We can maintain this with nutrition alone."

But when we tested again in November 2025, reality hit us hard. Our results had declined again. Our cells were, quite literally, becoming more "closed" again. For us, that was clear evidence that, in today's world, the body needs consistent support to maintain flexible cell membranes.

Haro's November 2025 results: ratio 9.6:1, Omega-3 3.4%. Mine: 3.8:1, Omega-3 4.3%.

This week, we test again

Because we're now fully committed again, we're both testing this week. Not because we think something is "wrong", but because we want to know where we stand now. This simple blood test helps us answer questions like: is our Omega-6:3 ratio moving back toward 3:1? Are our cell membranes flexible enough for proper nutrient uptake? How is our cellular resilience doing?

Once we have the results, we can adjust what we're doing accordingly.

Are you ready to stop guessing?

I'm sharing this because I want to show that health isn't a straight line, it requires awareness and ongoing care. If you're curious to know whether your "cell doors" are open or closed, I'd be happy to help you gain that insight.
